I got a 2 gallon craftsman air compressor for Christmas. It's 1.5 horsepower and has a max of 125 psi. My question is whether or not this is enough to use on my car. Will 125 psi be able to get off stuff like the alternator pulley and other things that need an impact wrench? I realize it'll probably be on the whole time and loud accordingly, but is it just too weak for use on a car? Any imput is appreciated.

If this is in fact too small, how big should I go, and what stores carry them at a good price.

It should be fine as most air tools are rated at 90psi anyways... If you do a lot of work with say grinders, etc...then you would need a bigger tank...

I just bought a Ingersoll-Rand 2 HP with 5.3cfm at a max of 125psi... It should be fine for my intented use of taking the wheels off, suspension and brake stufff.. Just wating for it to be delivered...

psi ratings dont mean anything. That is just the desirable preasure.

You need to check the scfm and compare it to the tools scfm. If the tank is a little bit lower or a lot lower you will burn up the motoer real quick and it will need to refill evry couple of minutes. If the air compresors scfm is higher you are good to go all day long.

P.S. Make sure to drain the water out of the tank everyday. It helps Alot
