Someone's telling me they are going to hit 12.5's with just basic bolt ons. No heads, no head porting, stock cams, and no nitrous or blower.

I said it won't happen, what do you think?

What's the fastest this person has gone so far? It will take every single engine and exhaust bolt-on, skinnnies, ET Drags, gears, Tubular k-member A-arms, and a ton of other weight reductions, Not to mention one hell of a driver and then it would be close.

Email him, he helped me with some great advice on my 87, his 88 ran 12.52 with the motor stock. If it can be done he will know how to do it.

This isn't to help me. Read the first post again. Some guy is claiming to me that he is going to run 12.5's all motor in his '00 GT. I pulled out [BS flag] and then made this post here to see what you all think. [dance]

it definetely can be done the fastest 4.6 2 valve has run a 12.1 109 stock heads and cams.Check out www.modulardepot.com.It's mostly driving and suspe what gets them there.

12.5 is possible, but there aren't many people doing it N/A.

I know that it can be done N/A. The link you posted has a SOHC motor with a lot of mods done to it including an intake and cams. Re-read my first post.

if you want 12.5 na.. you would have to have the best suspention, drag tires.. 430 gears.. and every bolt on there is.. and strip the car..

YEP wont happen ...unless with with a light front cross member, full drag suspension (shocks, control arms, and springs), 430 gears (with a locker or similiar diff) and slicks (not dot tires). My two cents.

I'm kind of a fan of and have been following Bill's progress for some time. He just recently installed the cams, and before that went a best of 12.47 @ 108. Click on the "history" link on the page I previously posted and you can see the progression of his car & times. True, he has a Bullitt intake, a suspension that's set up for drag racing, a tubular K-Member, I could go on, but he is still racing with the longblock that was installed at the factory. No internal work, no head porting.

It just proves that with an intelligent setup and cash, 12.5 is possible. And yeah, it also shows that its a bit more difficult than the simple bolt-ons.
