I always do the typical tune up stuff and have no problem with it. I had recently moved to 91 octane to get rid of pinging, I also cleaned that little metal filter (the correct name I cannot remember) behind the upper intake. My question is...Can I do anything else to the top end of the motor to help get rid of pinging? Anything I can tighten? It almost sounds like my lifters are tapping. It's a 95 5.0 with 114k miles.

its probably detonation from carbon build up... mine does the same thing with the timing @12, but its fine at 8*

look at this link here

and here for a little more info on the computers in the cars

Ive recently saw some1 say there are 2 "versions" of the 94-95 computer... The guy siad that there was a "high altitude" and a "low altitude" version, mainly based off of the calibration code
it starts with "F4VF" or something to that effect!

I hope this helps! [patriot]

Autolite 24's, a non dirty MAF and properly working EGR system will go a long way for part throttle pinging.
