Theres a contest this weekend, With my new engine Im runing 9.2:1 of compression and stock computer,,if I enter the contest,,is there a chance I damage something in the engine? [Confused]

Of course you could be putting your engine at risk, but most likely it's not because of the compression ratio. If you put a new engine together and you haven't tuned it at all (it sounds like you haven't) then if the contest is a race of some sort I wouldn't reccomend doing it. What exactly did you replace? Just the short block? You might be able to get away with it.

is it a compression contest? you'll lose with 9.2 to 1. that is stock

9.2:1 is not the stock compression for 99+gts,,and nope,,I havent tuned the engine,,Since its basically the same engine, but with stronger internals, I'm just using the stock computer program,,
The contest is a racing contest,,1/8 mile..but Its in brakets so I would be in the 9s bracket.

What was your old compression ratio? All motor or power adder? I'm going to assume all motor. If its only half a point more/less or so, I wouldn't worry about it. If you increased your compression ratio a point or so, maybe you need to back off on the timing a degree or two, or use octane booster.
