do the fox stangs use the same air pump system as the SO 5.0's? I'm asking because I want to convert from the exhaust-manifolds and 2-1-2 exhaust system on my Tbird to the Mustang headers, H pipe and tru dual exhaust system, and I'm wondering if the smog pump will still hook up.

Yes, there is only one air tube leaving the smog pump and feeding the cats on both cars. You'll probably have to modify the hose to work with the new H pipe. I simply use heater-hose and hose clamps to attach the metal smog pump air tube to the air inlet tube on the H pipe. I hate the stock metal clamp [Mad]

i was wondering if that would work. when i swapped trannies, I had to take the Y pipe out and the smog pump pipe wouldn't come off, so I hacked it off. so heater hose wouldn't melt? (I have < 2 inches of pipe coming off of the Y-pipe)

You can buy the silicon hose for the smog tube hook up....They somethimes come with the new H pipe, otherwise I know Kragen and Pep Boys carry it....

All the 5.0 smog pumps are the same, the only possible difference would be the output pipe on the back of the smog pump may be straight or it can be at 90*...

If you find a donor Mustang I'm sure everything will bolt up to your T-bird.. [patriot]

hell, if I had a donor 'Stang, I would be in the garage for weeks on end! [Big Grin] [Razz] I'll need to see if my uncle can hook me up, he's got connections

If you don't have cats, a few inches of heater hose will work fine.
