I didnt think I'd ever ask this, but since its getting close, Im starting to really wonder what kind of power I'll be making.

Here's the combo going in the fastback.

393 Windsor (4.030 x 3.85)
Scat 9000 Crank, Scat Stock Length Rods
Probe Sportsman Pistons
Stage 2 Ported Victor Jr. Heads
Solid Roller cam (.614/.621, 248/254 dur @.50)
Victor Jr. Intake (no porting), BG 750
Hedman Shorties (1 5/8 prim, 3 in. coll)
MSD 6A, MSD Distributor
Toploader Wide Ratio 4 Speed
Aluminum Driveshaft
3.89 with Mini Spool

I hope to be in the mid 11's on 28 inch. DR's.

sounds like a killer long block
but the carb is definetly a little small and the intake is also might be a little short since the heads have been ported

did i read that right, 1 5/8 shorties, thats just not right, put some 1 7/8 longtubes on there and uncork it

do u have flow numbers on the heads

im gonna have to say 430rwhp because of the shorties, small carb, and the intake wont let u rev high enough to get full advantage of the solid roller cam

Hedman is the only company that Ive been able to find that makes a header, long or short, with a 3 inch collector for a 67 Mustang with mechanical clutch linkage and a 351.

you think i need bigger than a 750?

my bad, i read the post and saw the carb as a 650, the 750 shoulf be perfect for a street driven 393

the victor jr intake will do fine, i would just suggest a small carb spacer to get a little more high rpm power to go with the solid roller cam

and check out kooks headers, they are pricey but they are awesome, i have 1 7/8 kooks longtubes for my 427w into a fox

hooker long tubes for ur car
this place is in stockton

thanks man. ive already talked to Mustangs plus, and those headers are like $750 after coating. I'll see what $$$ I can come up with. I really want to drive my car with more than a junkyard motor and a gear drive.

i put these headers on a frineds 69 coupe with a 351w in it

they were a bitch to put in becuase of the small space but i did get them in and the car sounds bad ass, combine that with a dr gas 3 in x pipe and damn, that thing rumbles, oh yeah all that on 2 chamber flows, i think they are 1 3/4 primaries

the quality isnt amazing but for $190 uncoated u cant go wrong, and they are still long tubes and they sealed just fine

thats a lot better....$189. thanks. i just hope they clear the stock clutch linkage. i'll call and find out.

I went to Hedmans website. There are a few 351 conversion headers: the shorties I know will work (part #88650), longtubes (88660) which have a footnote that say " When equipped with manual transmission, will not fit with Ford top loader trans. ", and then another longtube (88330)with footnote that says With automatic transmission, C-4 only.

I guess I need a T-56. [Big Grin]

why dont u do a clutch cable conversion, mustangplus sells a cable kit for ur car if i am not mistaken
that would get rid of all that linkage
