I am thinking about relocating my battery to the trunk. So i have a few questions for those that have done this.

Should i move the Solenoid to the trunk as well. I have heard it done both ways. I know that if it is moved to the trunk, you don't have a hot wire running the length of the car. Which would be the better way to go.

Should I buy a battery relocation kit from Jegs (66.95), it comes with box, mounting hardware, wiring, everything I need. Or should i get all the stuff individualy.

Any tips about the relocation, how difficult is it to do?

do u ever go to the track, if u do u need to get an approved bsttery box, like the moroso box, and u need to have a remote cutoff switch

I would suggest just getting it all in 1 kit, then you shoudnt have to hunt down a bunch of parts! [patriot]

I go to the track every so often, i am hoping to go more, but usually on grudge nights, or at Mustang Madness at Sacto. I have seen a great way for a cut off switch which is mounting it in the back-up light housing. It isn't hard to mount there, only a couple modifications.

I bought the Taylor relocation kit with the aluminum box. It fit perfect.I don't think you'll need to relocate the solenoid but I strongly advise using the exact same ground locations as stock. Don't be tempted to ground it to the trunk with that little strap that comes with most kits. Do it the right way. On my LX I ran a 2 gauge welding cable as my negative cable back to the block and another cable (a little smaller, can't remember the gauge) from the negative terminal to the bolt on the driver side fender near the windshield washer reservoir. You will also need a master cutoff switch if you're going to the track. Moroso makes a nice one. Stock 58 or 65 batteries will work for the meantime but most kits are made to work with group 24, 27, or 34 batteries. [Smile]

I did my relocation about a month ago and it was a snap. I got a kit pretty cheap so I decided why not do it. here are the pics of the completed project.
