hello all.
i got my 4.10's today, . a few things.
1) the guy at the shop told me to drive 200 miles before i punch it, or get on the freeway. i have already drivin it 140 miles, can i really see how they work now? i drove all 140 miles on the street, not going over 45 mph, no lie. all i know is i shift sooner, i have not been able to see the difference from these or my stock gears because i have been drivin like a grandma. please let me know.
2) the guy had to put on all new bearings, and he said i will need a new part. i forgot what it is called, it is that other big peice inside of the bell housing, it is the thing that makes both of my wheels turn, lol. one of them is REALLY loose, so he says i need new one, is this correct?
thankx again all.

1) If Ford doesn't have any silly rules on new rear ends on their new cars, why do shops? I'll tell you why.... to cover their ass if they install the gears wrong and they make noise or fail.
2) I'm not sure what you're talking about. The spider gears? Clutch packs?

lol.
thankx about question # 1. as far as question # 2, there is a part that is right behind the gears. it has a bunch of different things that turn or spin. and it makes the wheels turn. It peice is pretty big, and it sits right behind the gears. you know what i am talkin about?

Take that thing out right now and beat on it. That will break em in just fine. Take it through 1st gear and shift to 2nd and floor it till red line then do it again for 3rd.

hey guys. well i drove my car from the bay area to sacromento yesterday and it was great. i race soo many cars, and alot of people told me the freeway driving would be bad. but it was still fast and 5th gear was now useful. the only problem is that my mph's are off. i need to know where to get a speedo gear or get my chip programed. PLEASE HELP!!!!
thankx again all.

open up an MMFF or 5.0 mag and get yourself a 23 tooth speedo gear. 15 bucks i think. easy to swap out takes about as long to jack up the drivers side of the car.

You have a 2000 GT right? No speedo gear for that car. You need a Speed calibrator or a chip. To correct the speedo.
