Right now I have an E-cam with the stock heads with 1.6 rockers. If I switch to 1.7's what will the lift be on the cam afterwards. Current lift is .498". Thanks in advance.

oh by the way my guess is .529" I just want to see if I'm calculating this correctly

last time i checked 1.7s add .038 thousanths to your lift, so .498 would be .536, keep the 1.6s.

simple math.
.498/1.6 then multiply by 1.7.

cool, well if you calculate that, it is .529 cool, learning something everyday.

That's what I figured Jim. I just wanted to make sure. Stoauto why would you say to keep the 1.6's??? Wouldn't more lift be better with such a small cam

I have a set of 1.72 FMS roller rockers for sale in youre interested.

valve train geometry will be all screwed up.leave them, you change rocker ratio when your finding proper length push rods you go up or down on rocker ratio if you dont like the roll pattern of the rocker arm on the valve tip..or change the length..its acctually alot more involved and complicated then what i just stated..im just trying to scare ya

the ecam is not a small cam when u only have ported stock heads, leave the cam in there, just put a better cam in once u have better heads

:
lobe lift x rocker ratio = valve lift.
Note: A more aggresive rocker ratio does'nt always mean better performance just cause you have more lift. If your cam was designed to be used with 1.6,(which i think the E cam was) it might be better to stick with those to keep the whole geometry thing in check.

My ass ive seen the coupe run remember. Im going to run my j trim initially with the e cam and 1.7s hehe should break the 15s or just plain break but its gonna be a cool vido lol. And the reason you have the e cam 1.7s is you are a old fart like me and have been around these things too long.

If you get 1.7's, sell the E303 for $100 & buy a used B303 for $100. Then install it a few degrees retarded. That'll pull some more power out of those heads.

most cams will pass smog it is just a matter of getting the tech to believe that you have a carb eo number for it
