Car smells like strait fuel. The only thing my car has been doing latley is a small header exhaust leak. Could that be it?

are u consuming a lot of gas ? chek your lower intake and a ll the injectors for a fuel leak.
happen to me a while back

Yes lots of consumption!! Crap I can't beleive this. I was planning on puttin in my zex kit this weekend [Frown]

what did you end up having to do to fix it?

i had to pull out my injectors and replace them..its easy i can do it for u for cheap if your local

Thanks for the offer! [patriot] but I'd like to give it a shot myself,...that is if it turns out to be the injectors. Any special things to look for or do you think I would know pretty easy if they need replacing?

look for a big puddle of gasoline on lower intake right below yr injectors [Big Grin]

get a fuel pressure gauge and see what your FP is at...few months ago mine went out on me and it was just straight fuel smell.

i once had a o ring bust on one injector
on the way to san diego..
i barely made it to a gas station.
it happened at the worst time and place..
going over a tow bridge.. i lost like 8 gallons of gas in the matter or 5mins..luckly i was coasting the car at 90mph.. [Wink]
ran outta gas like 4 blocks for the gas staition
and i had to trick the clerk to turn on the pump
so i could fill up my 2 litre bottle of coke [Big Grin]
enough gas to drive it up to the station..

man o man was that a horrible day not only dangerously risking a engine fire and my life. [Roll Eyes]
