I'm going to put in my Kirban AFPR soon and want to know if anyone here has installed one on a car with an Edelbrock Performer (non RPM). Did you take off the upper intake? Any tips, suggestions, ideas here would be great.

Did anyone re-use their gasket also? If not, which one should I get?

which gaskets are you taling about?

edelbrock performers use a unique gasket between upper/lower. it won't match the HO intake, it won't match the cobra/gt-40/explorer intake. It will match the performer rpm intake, however.

you can reuse the gasket, just be careful not to break it

I took off my upper for extra clearance and it did help since my hands and arms had more room to move around. I also RE-used my gasket because it isn't a little flimsy fiber/cork gasket. It is like hard rubber compound or something and is pretty durable AS LONG AS YOU ARE CAREFUL taking it off.

Let's say I mess up and it doesn't come off clean. What gasket should I buy? If anyone has a brand and part number that'd be great.

I was able to put in an afpr on my 88 GT, it too had an edelbrok performer (non rpm), and I didnt have to take off the intake at all. I just simply took of the stock one, and put my bbk unit on. Took about 20 minutes...if that. I also hooked up my fuel pressure gauge in that 20 minutes.

Easy if you ask me.
