Which GT40 heads do you have? The iron ones? How wild of a cam do you want? Is smog an issue?

If you put a cam in a 95 you will most definitly have to get a chip and a tune. It is not an option. Just make sure you have the funds and are ready after you install all those parts. TFS stage 1 should work good. I used that in my 95. You also did not say if you were still running stock injectors, you will need to upgrade those also and get a mass air to match. Do it all right the first time or I promise you will be doing it again.

19's or 24's will be fine. 24's if you get a more agressive cam.

Just as an example, TFS TW heads require a minimum of 24# or more. It states this on the spec sheet. With any aftermarket head I would at least increase injector size to a minimum of a 24#. As Sawson stated if you get an aggressive cam that will make a difference also. I have built a couple of different motors in my 95 and a chip IS a MUST. www.racesystems.com can take care of that.

Chip and tune is not really needed at all. you should be fine with the stock chip in it. I know of a guy that put 550+ with the stock chip and no tune and the car ran just fine.

It was a 90 LX hatch. with a built 306, vic jr heads, victor intake and an s trim with 15lbs of boost. but still yellow94gt had heads cam intake on his 94 and that thing ran great. No need for a chip for what he is doing.

It can be tricky to make a 94/95 car idle with a decent cam, (or any cam for that matter0, in it but you deffinately don't need a tune for just an N/A application. Just some knowhow [patriot]

Well, then you got lucky because I have built 3 different motors for my 95 and they idled like shit, ran hot, and were very hard to start until I had the tuning done. This was before I went blown also. Good luck to the guy doing this work, at least you know now that if you finish your motor and you are having driveability problems you know what you need to do.
