when my car gets past 2000rpm's it make a whining noise.it does it in 1st,2nd,& 3rd gear but not as much in 2nd & 3rd.what could it be.is it a major problem that needs to be fixed.thanx

What kind of tranny do you have? A lot of 5 speeds make whining noises while driving.

its the stock tranny.it also makes the noise a little louder when i try to down shift to 2nd or 1st

Thats normal. When you downshift, the gearbox has to speed up, naturally making more noise.

my car has a whistle between 2400-3k in all gears..i dunno what it is but it sounds tight and allways has done it..

Maybe a bad pulley bearing? I had a similar problem recently, and thats what solved it.

it recently started doing that.i have a flexilite fan so i dont thnk its the clucth fan.i recently installed a Throttlebody with spacer 65mm.

Wait! What type of throttle body? BBKs are notorious for whistling. My BBK whistles like crazy. Luckily the blower covers the noise in my car though.
