I was reading about the Proform fan http://www.proformparts.com/catalog/fans.html and it says that with air conditioning, it only supports engines up to around 220 HP. I'm running around 400, with a Griffin aluminum radiator, and the car runs fine wile moving but in traffic it heats up quickly. I was going to upgrade to the Proform fan, but now I'm not sure if that will be enough. Anyone know if this fan will work and if not, what other fans should I look at? Thanks.

I can't find how much cfm their fan flows. Fans are rated by cfm (how many cubic feet of air the fan can move in one minute). I assume you already have a 130A alternator right? If so, look into the Lincoln Mark VIII electric fan.

The Proform fan will do 2800 cfm. How much does the Lincoln fan pull?

Also, on the Proform, the part number is 67015

Check out this page for all the info you want on lincoln fans:

I believe it pulls 4000-4500 CFM [Eek!]

I doubt it, I had underdrive pulleys on my car with electric fans, etc. and it was fine. Make sure youre using the "underdrive" alternator pulley as well. Its smaller than the stock one and spins the alternator faster to compensate for the belt moving slower. [patriot]

If everything is in tip top shape, you should get away with it. I ran that setup for 2-3 years and over 60K miles before my alternator went out. I did seem to go through batteries every 18 months or so though.
