I used 9" wide Cobra R's with 255/40/17 on the backs and they didn't rub at all with the stock springs, after I lowered it with Sportlines it rubbed on hard bumps so I ended up rolling the fenders. All four of them..

i have 275/40/17s on 17x9 Cobra R's and i had to remove the quad shocks and roll the fender a bit. it 's worth the look and the traction!

Stock height? What diameter wheel are you looking towards?

26x10 ET Drags fit no problem on the back of my car ,proven yesterday, no clearancing required, no rubbing either.

My choice of wheels would be between 15x10" Welds w/6.5" BS or 15x9" Bogarts w/6" BS. What size radial would work w/out having to roll the outer lips? I'd take the quadshocks out & can massage the inner of the wheel well, though. Stock height.

If you are talking about your GT. 15x8/15x9 with 5.50 inch backsetting (offset) with some 275/60/15 radials will fit no problem.

that might be too much tire for your current power though.

i have 275-40-17's on the rear. With the kumho's it rubbed a ton on any kind of semi bad driveway no matter how I drove it in (back rubbing)

With the nitto dr's it doesn't seem nearly as bad [Whoo Whooooo!] same size tire.

So you now have 275/45/17's drag radials and they don't rub as bad as the street tires did? Did you remove the quad shocks and/or do you have the fenders rolled at all?

No on both cases actually. To my great surprise the 255's up front did way better then the old 245 kumho's I had. I don't get it either?
