On the intake side the little clips that hold the valve guides in place will not come off. Usualy when the spring compresses they fall right off any ideas?

WD-40 and more force.

I assume you mean the locks are stuck in the retainers.
Take a socket just big enough to not touch the locks. Place it over the the retainer & tap it with a hammer a few times. A good tap should break them free.

yeah valve locks can be stuck in there sometimes, like they said above, use *some* force, and try not to let the spring fly around wherever you're working [Wink]
I've found heads that have a ton of miles or strong springs or even stockers that encounter valve float can have some locks really wedged in there. You'd be surprised how hard a tap (bash really) is needed to free them sometimes.

That's just odd.
Are the heads off of the car? If so....just take them in to a machine shop. They've got some bad-ass air spring-compressors that deliver 450+lbs.
If the heads are still on the motor....well, what type of spring compressor are you using? The hand-held type are VERY hard to work with IMO. Summit sells one that screws onto a 3/8th inch rocker stud & works quite well. The problem with stock heads is you have to also buy the rocker studs. Compcams has them...part # 4504-16 & can be had from Summit for ~$65.
