Ok im had some hood latching issues (hood pops and catches onthe safety catch. I adjusted the latch mechanism and it seems to have cured it but i want to put hood pins on just incase. How do i drill through my Cervinis Fiberglass hoos without jackin first the hood or second the paint?

Cover the area you want to drill with 2 layers of masking tape and mark the spot.
Then take a small drill bit (about 1/2 the size of the hole you want) and start your hole, you don't have to go all the way through, just go enough to make it easy to center the "proper" size drill bit
DON'T apply to much pressure on the drill, let the weight of the drill do the work.

The tape will make it easier to keep the drill bit centered, and if it does happen to "walk" out of the spot, it will save the paint. When you are done, peel the tape of slowly to avoid lifting the edge of the paint

heres what i did on a frpp cobra r hood.

i taped the area as said with masking tape, both top and underside of the hood. i then installed the pins first and put a little grease on the tip of the pin and lowered the hood. it left a mark and thats where i first drilled. i used a high speed rotary drill and a drill bit made to cut figerglass, found at sears. i centered the hole of where the pin was going to go through and i layed the plate on there and used a sharpie to mark the hole out.

as i held the hood steady, my brother cut out the hole as marked. you can only do this if you have a high speed rotary with a proper bit. if its not fast enough, you might end up cutting the fiberglass with rough edges.

yep get masking tape on it to protect the region as well as keep it from shattering

i did it the drll way and kept going to bigger bits until all fit well

but there are actually drill bits (more like circular saws) designed to cut large holes, and that one would get my vote for easiest method
