so, who has put one in there fox? from my inderstanding, all you need is a new k memeber, the stock exhaust, flip your motor mounts around, 96-98 radiator, a custom chip or FAST fuel management, and a modified bellhousing to fit a t-5 (optional for the tranny)
seems pretty easy to me. any advice [Confused]

i was gonna do the 98cobra motor with s trim into a fox but i started adding up the stuff on excel and said fuck it, to much money to start off, but then again if i did it i was gonna use wideband controlled FAST, 3k just for the computer and shit [Eek!]

for n/a you dont need FAST, just a chip and the PATS turned off.
i just like the idea of having a 300 hp motor that is completley smog legal. (i talked to the smog ref too, it is legal [worship] )

its legal? to put a 282 cu in in a car that came with a 302 or 4 cyl(181??)Never equipped with a 4.6in a fox?

yes

as long as u keep all the emission stuff that originally came with the motor and the new engine has to be a newer model than the current one

example, even if it did pass smog a carbed 302 in a 90gt would be illegal because of the carb

and sorry man, a 4v swap will never be totally legal because u use full length swap headers, and full lemgths arent approved

You could just use the stock manifolds

can u, i have never seen a fox with a 4v without long tubes
i dont know if it can be done, i havent seen it but who know, have u seen it done before

Posted by cobraman_1994 (Member # 467) on :

yup, the stock manifolds will work. then longtubes can be added on later with other mods [burnout]

can u use he stock manifolds and h pipe, if u can i didnt know that, that just saved me 800 initial cost

Posted by cobraman_1994 (Member # 467) on :

im not sure on the pipe or not. i think im just going to cut the begining of it off and bolt it up, then weld the rest on as needed. just a little modification is needed probably. [Big Grin]
