275.....I have 275/40-17 on the rear wheels of my Stang...

You can put what you want, BUT a 275 is overkill/UN-effective on a 7.5" wheel.

I've put a 295 on a 8" rim before. It bulged out a lot but it did fit.

i have 275's right now and they were a bitch to put on...i personally wouldnt not go any bigger.
