On the front of the intake there is a vacuum line that goes to a canister on the passenger side. Is it needed? I just found that the vacuum line is dry and cracked....i dunno if this is the source of my vacuum leak, but it starting to seem like hte culpret.....Can i cap it off or do i need ot by a new line? Just wondering.

You can cap off the intake side but dont cap off the canister side....The fumes from your gas tank filter through that canister and still need a place to vent...

I have a small K&N on the canister line and I've capped off my intake....My car runs fine..

I would keep the vacuum line connected to the intake if your worried about smog though..
