I want to get behind my gauge cluster to splice a wire into my tach wire, how do you remove the light knob? [Confused]

Look for a notch on the knob. Within the notch there'll be a tab that needs to be released in order to free the knob from the shaft.

yuo will need a small flathead screw driver. theres a slot on the side of the knob. you need to push on a tab and wriggle it out. sometimes they pop out easy, but sometimes its a PITA.

when i did the nitrous switch in my friend 97gt dash the knob just pulled off without any problem, maybe his reataining clip was just broken, but it came off easy

Wish I had trouble getting mine off. Every time I turn on my lights it comes off.

I just use a small allen wrench in that slot with the light knob all the way out, (headlights on). Hook the allen wrench in there and pull twards you gently, it will come right off [patriot]
