I'm about to buy a new tranny what do you guys think is better 1st gear ratio for drag racing. This will be for a coupe with heads, intake, 3.55s, and drag radials.

With the rear gears being 355 I would go with he 335 1ST gear.

4.30:1 gears out back and 28" slicks is a nice setup for a 2.95 first gear... but if you have 3.73's out back, go with the 3.35 first gear.

I believe the 295 is a stronger trans. I have a t5z with the 295 and 373s in my vert and it is by no means undergeared. I put the tailshaft of the stock 3.35 t5 through the floorboard and that hasnt happened to my 2.95 so its up to you.
