I just bought a 91 5.0 lx AOD, GREAT CAR.
I have a few problems with it though.
I'm going to throw up a ton of questions hoping for some feedback and help from whoever knows.
This car is a salvage title, it did have a front end collison, doesn't look too bad. The problem is the Check engine light comes on time to time, and the air bag light blinks.
I assume the air bag light blinks because it has already been deployed.
But what can i do to get rid of these lights, the previous owner said the tranny was replaced and said some BS about the wires not being connected.
also my speedometer doesn't work!
what can I do to turn off the check engine light?
air bag light? and turn my speedometer back on?

air bag light: if u dont replace the sensors and bag it wont turn off, so what u do is take the gauge cluster out of the car, figure out which wire turns on that light and cut the wire, ghetto but simple and cheap
speedo: figure out what is broken, if ur cable snapped get a new cable, if the speedo gauge actually broke, go to the junkyard and pic one up, or call me and i will sell u a full gauge pod, or maybe the gear in the tranny is completely sheared
check engine light: use a code scanner to find out what the problem is, then go from there

that gets me thinking.
on my tranny.
theres 1,2,D,and overdrive.
on this tranny, 2 doesn't work, or it's combined with D.
crap, I hope the gear isn't screwed. But the tranny seems to shift smooth. hmmm
ok I'll just take out the gauge, see whats wrong with it.
thanks
