should be real close or above 400rwhp
camara90-he post on here if u didnt know
347
afr185
custom cam
holley intake
about 390rwhp
ur heads should be a little better becuase they were ported by godlike people (TEA), good luck, what size injectors are u runnin in that combo

What do the heads flow? It should make low 400's rwhp.

Posted by 1SLOWLX (Member # 558) on :

30lb injectors, the heads flow 231.2 on the exhaust at .600 and 301.4 on the intake at .600
Albert

u flow 25 more on intake and 40 more on exhaust compared to afr 185's, so very low 400's should be a good estimate

That combo should make some good power. Another local with stock TFS heads on a 347 with a holly intake and X cam made 367 rwhp:

http://www.californiafords.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=007780 (his sig)

With heads that flow ~50 cfm more on the intake, and ~50? cfm more on the exhaust, matched with a bigger cam and exhaust, breaking 400 rwhp shouldn't be a problem.

you know I busted out the handy dandy calculator on this one and I got about 420.6 to the wheels. I think if you get it tuned by Byron you'll hit your goal for sure. [worship]

What kind of TFS heads? Hi-port????

Will this engine have a K&N? [Wink] ......

...sounds to me like 380-390 rwhp..just a guess though....I've seen 331ci AFR combos hit about 330rwhp NA....So, add maybe 70rwhp with a good cam and a GREAT head work...Like I said though, its just a guess..

Why do you think his heads are stock? They are some more of Mr. Tooley's work.

Good point Jim, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I believe they are ported, but not by TEA and it was dyno'd through the cats... details to follow...

Yeah, I am just repeating what he told me. Can't vouch for the accuracy...

I will be happy with 380+ rwhp. I just wanted something that I can drive whenever and not have to worry about boost or nos making my power. My goal for this lx in to go really low 11's NA. The suspension is all done with 70-30 struts, 50-50 shocks, steeda aluminum control arms, wild ride battle boxes, subframe connectors and a strut tower brace. As for the fuel system goes it has a whole areomotive kit on it because the car used to be supercharged and needed that much fuel. Now it is there so what the hell

It should be close to 400rwhp. 3" exhuast would probably help out a good amount.

That is what Mr.tooley told me also. But the car is going to be loud enough and I don't mind it that much. I just want it to run in the mid to low 11's
Albert

You should have no problem running low 11's if your suspension is setup correctly. Suspension is one of the most overlooked areas in just about EVERY Mustang I see at the track.

just curious jeff s, what suspension are u runnin, just so i know, and what block are u using on the blown 331, again, just for reference

Posted by Jeff S (Member # 371) on :

I'm running an A4 block for the 331. My suspension consists of QA1 adjustable struts with 14" 150# coilover springs up front with a tublular k-member/a-arms. In the rear I have lakewood 50/50's with coilover's, double adjustable uppers, adjustable lowers(with solid/spherical bushings at all points) and a UPR anti roll-bar.

like everyone else said, im sure it will be near... thats sort of similar to the setup im going for, except im considering afr 205's fully ported and the intake port matched, although im not sure which one yet, either the trick flow R or the holley, plus 3" exhaust... whos building it for you, bayshore or someones sidejob??

they are the steeda aluminum ones. I Also have wild ride torque boxes welded in so I don't rip them with the slicks on the beast

Albert....what did your old motor put out? What did your car run?

Posted by 1SLOWLX (Member # 558) on :

The old motor never ran right. It had a miss that wouldn't go away and then it blew up. I know it would have run in the 11's. My shortblock is done and the whole motor will be done on monday. I can't wait. This time it is NA and it will be fast.
