will bending the rear axle housing take away any power?

cant help it, plus puts more strain on bearings and axles, makes them easier to break

Do u know anyone who has had this done?

yeah, me, i bent the axle housing in my truck, outer bearing seals started to leak in about two weeks, it also had a funny drowning every once in a while, and it contributed to me tossing more posi units than summit has in there wherehouse
in short, if u have a bent housing replace the whole axle assembly with new stronger parts, because if u bent it once, u can bend it again

66 AC COBRA WHERE DID U GET A NEW HOUSING?AND HOW MUCH WAS YOUR AXLE BENT?

i actually stepped up my truck to a 1 ton axle so i went all new, i even built it with gears posi and moser axles, overkill on axles is never overkill, u can never have something to big, for housings, if u have an 8.8, i have a complete axle with 3.08 gears and working posi and all the brake stuff, but it is for a foxbody (which i dont think u are looking for)

go to a junkyard and pull an axle that doesnt look bent, and build it up with axles, gears, posi, cover, all the shit, do it once and not have to worry about it, just my .02

???how did u bend it anyway, hit a curb or a speed bump too hard????
