I heard that having a K&N filter will make the MAS build up oil residue. If so, how would I clean the Pro-M with out messing it up. I dont want to damage the sensor but I want it to funtion properly with out that filth.

You can carefully remove it and clean it with a cloth, like how everyone else does it....dont wet it like you did with the Iradium plugs

If its not broke-don't fix it! Chances are you'll do more harm than good touching those sensative elements on the meter.

Ya, if it aint broken dont fix it. Just wipe it down with a rag or call PRO-M on how to clean it. Dont wet it.

Yeah well I told you why I couldn't go out this weekend. I actually like at least 4 hrs of sleep before going in to work unlike some people. But good things come to those whoo wait so just wait and you'll see the snake all over town. oh, I just ordered the rest of the suspension so if it comes in before the weekend, you can help me out so that you dont have to wait too much longer!

ok cool, about time we turn that stock looking thing, into something that seems to have balls. 4 hours of sleep?-thats to much, all you need is about 2-3 and then rest for a while by the other, other day. Drink some Red Bull, it will give u wings.

So did you figure out how to clean your Pro-M?

Take off the Mass air meter. With a semi-wet cloth, use a cleaner degreaser like Fantastik or a Kragen any-brand degreaser. the cloth must be drenched and ringed-out with this stuff. Then wipe the grease out from the inside. I never heard that grease from the K&N filters can creep up into the mass air meter. Is this true? Maybe you are over-oiling the filters too much. Just apply a good amount, and it will spread itself out slowly.
Good luck!

The K&N filter oil can do a number on your MAF's It kinda sucks but I guess over all its worth it. I went through a stock MAF in one month after putting my K&N on and it totally got fried from the oil. This one's cool as long as I keep it clean. Even right out of the box its got enough oil on it to dirty up your MAF so try not to put too much on when you re-oil it.

I just think he should get a rag, spit on it and wipe it down. Simple as that
If isnt broken dont fix it.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a shot but if it seems like I am going to ruin the MAF I'll just leave it alone.

Except that I don't remove sensor from MAF just spraying it with Quick Dry formual electrical contact cleaner with it in place.
