i have a 1985 Mustang LX 3.8 liter. it came stock with a C5 transmission. i'm planning a V8 swap and i was wondering if the C5 will bolt up to the 5.0 motor? i read that their bellhousings and bolts and everything line up, and on different websites selling flywheels the C5 and AOD were the same part #. i have a 5.0 EFI(non HO) motor with flywheel... will the motor bolt up to the transmission? and also i'm going to go carbureted, will i need a new TV cable? and will the C5 hold up to the power of a V8(the motor isn't built up... yet)?

So your going to run that low compression crown vic motor carbuerated? Thats gonna be hella slow. I doubt that 150 hp is going to blow your tranny.

yes, its a C5, it is on my 1985 3.8 liter V6. from what i understand the C5 is just a C4 with a lockup converter, and can be electronically controlled. does anyone know anything about these transmissions?

I wouldn't waiste your time with a V6 tranny. Get a V8 tranny and toss that "C5" in the trash.
