i was thinking how to get colder air to the engine and thought up the idea of hooking one of the vents from the AC up to the air filter or something. Its a goofy idea but i think it could work. What do you guys think?

i have tought of this, but there is a problem, to get cold air u would have to turn the a/c on, which would rob power, so u would gain power form colder air but the a/c compressor would ad more hp killing drag

im not sure but if you think about the fact that the ac is run by the engine, wont you be kinda of wasting the effort, colder air is always better but if you have to make the engine run harder to do it, im not sure if it would be of that much more benefit...but give it a try if y ou want

You can't comprehend how much air an engine 'sucks' at WOT. The car's air condition, even a big leaf blower can't keep up with the amount of air pistons suck in.

alrighty,1990gt.
you want colder air?
will you remove your fog lights?(save 15-20pounds)
would you mind cutting a 6 inch hole in the fender well and factory air box?
and buying a knN panel filter?(optional)-used-$20
go to home depot and pick up a 6" ventalation tube
10$
remove the bracket in between the fenderwell and bumper.
after removal of the foglights, brackets and modifacations to the fenderwell and air box
using the gt's passenger side foglight hole, route the 6"vent tubing and run it up to the airbox
and use your imagination on mounting it to the airbox
i shit you not this work out real great after 60mph the 5.0 seem to be fine going 0-60
and when it rains put the tubing out...that simple.
shit i thought up trying to make 60 bucks on a rematch on a camaro that won the first time by 2 cars or 2-3tenths..when i did that mod i won my money back

I have seen custom tubing done on fox bodies that has PVC piping that connects both foglight holes to the air box. Kinda like a dual ram air effect. The driver side really didn't do too much but hell, two openings is better than one in my opinion! It worked and actually got .2 tenths!!!! I am impressed with that and am actually thinking of something I can do to that effect when the Stalker body kit goes on since I have an LX now and no foglight wiring of any sort. That will save me the hassle of wiring AND I can run the tubing with the front bumper off too! Just a thought

glad you like it..the only down side is you'll have to clean your knN filter every month or few hundred miles and ocasionally you suck up dirt klods, rocks, hell road kill
literally the best bang for the buck in my opinion
having a bigger mass air sensor helps alot.
