I want to hook up my power wire from my lights on my autometer gauges so the lights will turn on when i turn on my headlights. What wire do i have to splice them into on my headlight switch. i have a 90 mustang.

I recently installed a boost gauge on my lightning and it was pretty simple. For the light hookup, just use your fuse. Figure out which fuse in your fuse box is hooked up to the lights. (To figure it out, you can use a test light and turn on and off the lights and test one at a time, or you can just check scematics on your car.) Once you find the fuse, just run a wire into that fuse and shove the fuse and wire back into its holder. Good luck! [patriot]

do you mean run a wire into one of the 2 holes on the top of the fuse? and this will cause my gauge lights to turn on and off when i flip the switch?

I think I know what you mean, and yes thats is what I am saying. Pull out the fuse, and then strip the wire, and then put it into the place where the fuse was, and then put the fuse back in, so it is securing the wire.

oh ok i thought u meant put it on the holes on the top of the fuse. but ok i remove the fuse and the wire goes underneath the fuse. think i can have the gauges hooked up to that one wire going under the fuse or do you think it will blow the f

ya you could always jam it in to the fusebox, or you could actually find the dimmer wire from the dimmer switch and hook it up there. There is one behind the readio. This will not make the lights as bright as grabbing them to a 12v source such as headlights but the will have plenty of light, and will also be able to use the dimmer, so the lights will not be to bright at night. This is a cleaner install.

you could always fine the negetive on the switch in the box.....i believe it is the black one....hmmmm...coincidental??hhhahah j/k.....pull out the switchs on the upper left side...there is a block on top with 6 wire and a block below with 2....the two below are the positive feeds to the fog lamps and headlights...you can ground the tach somewhere and use the positive feed off of that as well....
