hey i was hoping someone could help me. when i rev my car or whenever you stomp on it you can hear a whistling sound coming from the engine. i have been trying to figure it out for a while. at first i thought it might be a vacuum leak but i dont think so. i think it has something to do with the tb? all the stuff is new on the car so it could easily be something loose or something. any suggestions?
THANKS

could it be the [Whoo Whooooo!] ?

Don't trip bro, it is the TB. My buddies across the street and even my own mustang whistles sometimes. Just goes with having a huge air sucking engine [Wink] [burnout] [burnout]

its a 70mm BBK tb
its definately not the [Whoo Whooooo!]
is there anything i can do to stop it?

Are you running a BBK(or Similar) cold air induction? All the ones I've seen have made a whistle under load.

I had the 70MM on my mustang i just sold, it made that sound until i put the supercharger on [Smile]

Supercharger won't stop the whistle. BBK designed a whistle into their casting so you don't have to roll your windows down to get the attention of the girl in the car next to you at the stoplight. Best of all it was free! You can actually get rid of the whistle by cleaning up the edges on the inside of the throttle body at the idle bypass with the grinding tool of you choice. The noise used to bug me at first but I kinda like it now.

Hey...maybe its the BBK TB! [Wink]

I've got a 70mm BBK too, and it whistles at idle, but not under load.

Its the TB, I promise. It happens any time a large amount of air is pulled into a smaller hole. Let me guess you have a stock intake right? Big throttle body, little intake, lets experiment, make an "O" with your lips and suck in, does it make a sound? [Big Grin]

I've got a 70mm TB with TFS intake, and it whistles though. [Smile]

Ive got the same setup and mine also whistles, until I put the boost to it. The supercharger made it go away, or maybe its becaue the blower is much louder...???

actually its a ported eddlebrock performer intake and a 70mm tb
