The "World Class" T5Z has a torque capacity of 330ft./lbs...

Well, I have 336lb/ft at the wheels, so considerably more than that at the flywheel. So far, so good. And I do powershift [Eek!]

edit: also need to consider vehicle weight for load. Think your car is a little lighter than mine...

no no, i have a tko in the cobra, i am looking at buying a mustang tommorrow, it has a t5z, i was hoping it was strong enough to handle the power i want to put through it, it would really cost me if i had to put a tko in it, and it should be fine since i definetley wont powershift,l atleast not until i can afford a tko anyway [Big Grin]

I ran the T-5 behind s-trim,heads,cam,etc. with no problems... until the car was stolen. I had approximately 400RWHP. Also ran Pro 5.0 shifter. No need to go through the syncro's.

Just to clear up a common mis-concetion.... all 1986.5+ T5's that came in 5.O Mustangs are considered "World Class" and the 1989.5+ T5's are actually a bit stronger.

I ran "MANY" T-5s in my car when I was running about 310 RWHP on motor.Oh wait that isnt what you wnated to hear was it?..............I only went thru about 5 though so its kewl. But that was leaving the line at 5,000 plus with a car that hooked............ [burnout]

Hehe

anyways all the T-5's from 85-up are considerd "WORLD CLASS" "Z" Specs. Meaning roller bearings instead of needle type, steel bearing sleeve and a better first gear ratio(some). These tranny carry a number on the code tag folowed by a "Z" FYI

If you are running DR's you shouldnt have any problems as long as you arent beating the sh$t out of the tranny.....

[Confused] [Confused] [Confused]

You guys are saying that the trannys that Ford used in the 93 Cobras were the same from 90 on up?

NO! So much misinformation. The "Z" spec was only sold as an aftermarket tranny. How about a nice chart showing the complete family of T5's?

Read this and learn...
