Which is better for a N/A car bbk equal length's or the shorties. Just overall hp gains and performance. The car has basic bolt-ons. i.e. cold air intake, o/r h. Any and all opinion will be greatly appreciated of if anyone knows where there is tech comparison on these or of similiarity and want to pass the link on that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

with basic bolt ons, shorties have more lowend and midrange power, but the equals have more top end, i would go with the shorties because a stock 5.0 engine doesnt make great high rpm power, if u plan on doing heads, intake, and cam, i would think about the equals

If you want to stay smog legal get the Equal length shorties ceramic coated. Long tubes are the shit but you won't pass the sniffer with them. [patriot]

unfknblvbl89,

Do you mean equal length shorties vs. unequal length shorties, or shorties vs. long tubes? Incase you meant the BBK long tuubes, they are not equal length.

no I meant uneql shorties vs. eql length shorties. most caught on to what I was asking. Yes I know long tubes are not equal length, but I do know what long tubes are and if I was asking about long tubes I would of stated long tubes. I'm not trying to be a dick here.

imo, equal length shorties are not worth the extra effort

Good question. IMO it almost looks like you would have to remove the whole header, but I don't know.

I remember a while back in MM&FF's they stated installing eql length shorties over uneql's wasn't really worth the knuckle busting time or something similar to that.

equal lengths are only good for another 2-3hp and you have to tilt the motor to install them. sparkplug changes are not too bad, an extension and u-joint are all you need
