i think the bolt that the h pipe connects to the headers is stripped. it will go in about 4 turns and then stop. how hard is it to replace that bolt? i have a 96 gt

I had a similar problem. I just found someone that had gotten aftermarket headers for their car and had a his stock set lying around in his garage. I think no matter what, the header will have to come off.

if it is ont the driver side u might be able to fix it with the heade still on, if it is the passenger side u are screwed, there is no clearance at all, sarter and frame and wai to close, u will have to pull the header, and to do that u are going to have to pull the motor, my advice would be to get it in as far as possible and hope that it holds, or the motor might been gettin a lift, sorry for the badd news
