My motor is finally done. when i went to apex to have it tuned the RPM limiter on the DIS4 was cutting whatever the setting was in half. My old DIS4 never had this problem but according to my HCI it had taken a shit. So apex put on a bypass and it revved up right but the spark was getting blown out. they told me to replace the ignition box. I just did and am having the same problem. Whatever i set the limiter to it cuts it in half. Is one of my settings wrong? what could be the problem.

Are you sure you have the MSD set for a "V8" engine?

What did you dyno in at?

YEah its the DIS 4. Byron and the tech at apex both thought it was a faulty box, but i dont know. My best pull was 451rwhp. that was bypassing the MSD so i should have a few more with a good spark.

Sounds a lot like rob's Cobra's numbers. What is your combo?

As for the MSD... I don't see it really giving you much if any RWHP if and when you fix it. The factory ignition is pretty awesome these days thanks to SMOG laws. Give MSD a call and see what they have to say about it.

Byron said he thought the blower was blowing out the spark because it was pretty rough.

could it have something to do with the ground?

make sure it's getting a good ground first. It makes sense but alot of people don't realize that. [Roll Eyes]
