thanks again everyone..like i said in the earlier post.. i will have to double check the info. i'm waiting on fordchip's email back.. to let me know the little details and stuff... we just need around 20 cars.. interested so they'll fly here for sure if we have 20 cars ..at least.. so far there are 7 cars..listed .. more than 20 cars is even better... they'll probably stay in the bay for 3 days instead...sat,sun,mon... but yah we have to get responses..before they can fly here... in san diego last may, they were over booked and everyone left there really satisfied with their N/A cars..or blown cars... because of their expertise...
i'll let u know the 411 as soon as i get some 411.. thanks everyone!!!!

I'm interested. I'm just not sure if I'll have my new parts by then. Money's pretty tight right now with X-mas and all. Plus I'd rather do it at Mustang Ranch. I'm not too hip on giving any more money to Apex.

Posted by Andrew WOT (Member # 1249) on

Afaik they use Diablo blanks (black 4 bank chip), afraid your current chip is useless.

From fordchip.com FAQ
quote:
MAF Meters
FordChip only recommends using either a Ford air meter or a Pro-M air meter. The air meter is a very critical part of the EEC control system. All the Ford meters are closely manufactured to keep variability down. All the Pro-M meters are individually flowed and come with a flow sheet. FordChip takes this sheet and makes you a custom transfer function for your individual air meter.
I haven't seen another company that flows each air meter and gives you a flow sheet. They want you to use a certain diameter sample tube to get this flow. FordChip won't make a calibration for your vehicle with this type of air meter. The air meter transfer function is too critical to do this to.

You can try the new Dynojet in Suisun (Fairfield). With 20 cars he will probably give you a good deal.

So they need to make three pulls to tune or what? probably be about $600 in all? I might possibly be in if I like what I hear. It would be for my 96' supercharged Saleen.

!
Silverstang2k1's youngest brother won't be making it out, he just wrecked his stang. It's toast, but his other brother might bring his stang out. I don't need a dynotune for my stang, it's already been done.

Im out - can't make it that weekend now. Im leaving tomorrow for military stuff and won't have a chance to break my motor in or finish up chasing fuel system gremlins, so the SC won't be on yet

you're better off waiting for Byron (local) anyways...
Posted by XR1stang (Member # 2248) on

I was quoted $700 from Byron to do my chip which means it is a no go. I'll just have my friends at TrueBlue burn one and worry about dyno time later when I find someone less expensive.
