I’m in the “unmanly” position of having to ask, I need some help here. [Big Grin]
I bought a grill for my ’97 GT on Ebay, and the instructions call for the removal of the plastic guard on top of the radiator. It seems to be held on with a fitting that takes a Phillips screwdriver, but all it does is turn and nothing happens. What is the secret?
Thanks in advance for your advice
Robert

The trick is to either hold the outside of that fitting down with your fingers> or to put a small headed regular screwdriver between the outside ring and the inside screw> push in a little> then pull up> which will help the center phillips screw to pop out.

Yeah, use a flathead to pry it out...but be careful cause you dont want to break the screws.

use a flat head or if you have an interior tool use that if you break them they aren't cheap at ford but you will probably break some so don't worry.

all they are is little push down buttons. You can pull them up a bit with the screw driver and then I grabbed them under the top with a set of pliers and pulled them off didn't take long just had to put some muscle into it. [patriot]

Thanks all for your information. I ended up popping them off with a puller and replacing them. I got a set of 10 (but without the pop in screw) for $6.00 at the local part store.
Here is a shot of my new grill, what do ya think?
