Why though when I can pick these up for less than $30. See what I am saying. If I was going to pay full price then I would go with 3.73 or 3.90.

Thanks for the reply

if u can get them for 30...then get the 3.55...they will work ok

be carefull since they are used...buying used gears is always very risky!!

3.55's ae good for a A car with power addder or a Daily driver. 3.73's are for N/a cars

you will notice a good difference in 355's from your stock gears.

I think you would be very happy with the difference from 273's or 308's. 3.55's are a great gear in the 87-93's. Not very knowledgeable in other years.

why do that when you can get em new for 150?

Id be very careful picking up gears for $30. I probably wouldnt do it unless its somebody you know. even then id inspect all the teeth carefully. Install is no joke so if you get bad gears you gotta pay the 250-300 install price twice.

I have used gears in my car. Done it before in one of my other stangs too. As long as they're not excessively worn, you should be fine. A good installer will be able to tell you weather they're good or not.

you guys know gear man? sean eskilsen the owner of River City Differentials down in Rancho cordova by pick n pull.

he's a good friend of mine. if you guys are looking for gears that are not really wanted in the 4x4 world (like anything 4.10 and under) then check w/ him and tell him Sillyneck sent ya. Bring BEER too and you might get outta there w/ a perfect set for next to nothing. A lot of times there are take outs and what not from rangers and exploders as they build them up so there's your 3.55's or 3.73's

no guarenttees because I don't hang out there anymore (moved) but he's a cool guy just the same. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

dunno what your stock ratio is but 3.55s from say a 3.08 is almost no diff youll notice alil more pull but not much going from the 2.73s yeah go for it. but id rather have 4.10s DONT FEAR THE GEAR

for real just buy them for $30 and sell them on ebay for $100. Someone will pick um up.

Seriousley buy them then sell them for more and make some money off them then get 3.73 or 4.10's. NO 3.55!

I think that the answer lies within what your set up is. Why don't you list out your mods, and your future mods, and that will give us a better idea of what gear you want. A good deal is always a good deal, but may not work with your application. Remember, 5.0's don't always need as much gear as modular's, because they have enough low end grunt, modular's don't always.
