I have a 87 gt and my mods are msd, asp pulleys, k&n filter, front and rear sway bars, subframe connecters, eibach 4 way adjustable lowering springs, and 4- point roll bar. I am only 17 and i am looking to fix up my car. I just need some help. I am leaning toward a b&m short shifter but i don't know. So any help will be appreciated. -anthony [Confused]

Well its all about how much money you have to spend. Im 17 too and went through the same thing and ended up going with the bolt ons like cold air, pullies, ignition, full exhaust, 3:73's, true posi, bigger axles, etc... If you have big bucks for engine mods then theres always a head/intake/cam combo, but be prepared to have some serious cash if you go that way...

Welcome to the site [patriot]

**The shifters definetely a plus, i recommend a pro 5.0

Ig I were you I would go with a pro 5.0 shifter and get some 3.73 gears installed at www.rearendspecalties.com

That will really make the car pick up.

id say rear end, and if your car is not mass air, convert to mass air, but do not put stock stuff. no sense in doing it twice [Smile]

Hey Anthony, it's about time you joined the board. Like I told you - get a short throw shifter and some gears but first get that car running again. Did you get the fuel pump troubleshooting e-mail I sent you. A member of this board was kind enough to send me it and maybe it will help you out.

aluminum driveshaft, 3.90's and a short shifter. then start on your exhaust [burnout]

i heard aluminum driveshafts were pretty much pointless, at least on his near stock 5.0. Put the money towards something else...

its lighter, lighter is better. and if your doing drivetrain mods, you might as well swap it out. and not have a half ass modded drivtrain

An aluminum driveshaft isnt much llighter than the stock one. Use the money on something else.
