i read this article in the mm&ff about a new electric water pump. what's the deal with this product? is it any good or does it make your engine run hot? any tips would be great. also, would it help performance even when installed on an engine that has pullies already? thanks for the time.

You'll gain some HP at higher RPM's with one, but I wouldn't run one on a true daily driver.

Actually there are a number of advantages, not to mention the increase in horse power. The electric runs flat out all the time and is not dependent on engine speed like the stocker. So at lower RPM your getting a lot higher flow than you would with your belt driven one. Plus you can turn it on while the engine is off and drop temp rather quickly, however you already have underdrive pulleys so the hp diff. will not be that great. But if you over heat at lower RPM, really hot area or have a S/C thats prone to run hot they are a great idea and easy to install.

I think there cool, the bad things about them is if they stop working which they do one time or another you have no warning your car suddenly over heats and there's nothing you can do about it. They do look good though.
