well..i just came back from the service department at serramonte ford. this is what they said, ",....found that bank one catalytic converter is not working and bank two oxygen sensor was slow to respond. Raised the vehicle. Found that vehicle has aftermartket exhaust system installed. the catalytic converters are also aftermarket and is not covered by the factory warranty. please be adviced that the catalyst monitors could also be switched from bank one to bank two...needs cats and 02 sensors to start."

ok..wtf?? what did i do?? how could i have messed this up? now..where can i get the "catalytic converters"?? do you know any good shops that could take care of this? also..why would i need cats?? i allready have bassani x-pipe w highflow cats? thank you .

Let me see if my dealer translator 1.0 beta works on this:

"We don't make enough money on warranty work anyways, and I see some aftermarket parts, so I'm going to make that as my main excuse and yeah, I'm going to ask you to leave now."

Just put an offroad pipe on your car with mil eliminators, and have somebody reset your computer. [Big Grin]

lots of aftermarket exhaust systems cats go bad....as they have less than the stock 4. The main question is.... does your check engine light come on? If so it is probably the O2 sensor. Will you pass a smog sniffer test? If not then it is the cat.

The service advisor was "Dennis Collier-5584"

i think the actual guy working on the car was "36 Emmanuel enriquez lic #4715"

i am just mad that i had to pay $110..just to find out that the warranty would not apply. talk about ripping someone off. [Mad] [Mad]

Alright there buddy take it easy on the dealers were not all that bad. Now your check engine light was on because you modified the exhaust so you brought it into the dealer for a warranty claim. Now I have a few questions the eec-v system needs to see the cats operate efficiently due to obd2 crap. So one of your aftermarket cats might of gone bad, but how long after you put the exhaust on did the check engine light come on, if it is right after then you will need to put on the mil eliminators. If the exhaust has been on for a while and the check engine light just came on then chances are that the cat did go bad it happens. As for the o2 sensors they usually don't go bad but there is always a small chance they will but not two at the same time. You just went to a dealer without thinking first you need to knoow someone there that will take care of you or ask the service writers to work with you. next time go to S&C ford where I work and Ask for Ryan Pickering as your service writer and tell him to have John Copello check vehicle, I will let you Know what is really going on with your vehicle and try to help you out. thanks, i really appreciate it. i was not trying to making a warranty claim. i knew it might have been the exhaust but there is always a possibility that it might be something else. the engine light came on at around 3k miles..when away for sometime now it came back at 6k. i would really like to know whats going on so i can fix it rigth away. where is your dealership located at?
thank you for your interest.
