my new SVO tb whistles really bad at 1/8th gas, right at cruising speeds. Its not like a sucking air sound but an actual whistle. Any ideas on how to fix it?

could be the ol' vacuum leak. did you use a gasket behind the TB?

I reused the stock gasket? think its leaking? im sure a T/b gasket is not expensive..

Well my BBK 70MM used to do that before the charger. I cured it by drilling a 1/8 inch hole into the butterfly plate. A guy from brentwood showed me that and it cured my problem.

I was thinking about doing that, but then i was wondering how the vacume would act with the blower at idle? anyone done that before on a blower car?

My Mac 70mm whistled too...I called MAC and complained and they were like, "Well, that happens on some of our throttle bodies, it's normal." I'm like, "Normal...well, it's fucking annoying, how can I stop it?"
They said, "Um...take it out..."
So I did, and sold it, and said FUCK MAC !

I have a BBK and mine whistles as well. I also have an issue that the throttle slightly sticks closed especially when the car is cold.

BBK's are known to do the sticking thing and I though all aftermarket throttle bodies whistled.
Just remeber just because its aftermarket doesnt always mean its better than factory.

my 65mm TB is out of a 100k mile '93 cobra and works perfectly. I guess ford does 'some' things right.

Well theres a great example right there. SOME stock Ford factory parts that come on your car are still better than SOME aftermarket parts.
Aftermarket doesnt always mean that it is better.

A friend installed a TB spacer on his 99 Dakota 5.2L and it started whistling also. Must just be a certain length/diameter that causes it.
