free mods?
let's see (these include "sorta" free )
short belt to bypass PS , smog --- $20
iced intake --- $1
ram-air ---- $5 worth of dryer hose and a large mouth funnel, I prefer red
bumped timing to 12-14 degrees, sorta free but might require 89 to 91 gas
remove air silencer---- free
remove weight---- now that's free!

Well to be honest, unless you do heads, cam, intake or a power adder it's gonna feel slow compared to your Camaro. So IMO, I'd focus on the Camaro for speed. There are some cheap things you could get and used parts in good shape are easy to find but again that's money that could go towards your Camaro. If the 5.0 is a daily cruiser then I'd leave it alone. It'll be very reliable and there's no sense in having 2 project cars at the same time. Shade tree covered the free mods.

Head gaskets were blown out. Everything is apart and I'm waiting for my heads to come back. Mike's car is down as well. He's swapping the intake and the clutch.

Aaron what were you using for head gaskets??
[lockwire] set up or just performance fel-pro?
Are you making changes to your heads like to get them o-ring groved or just repaired??
Sorry for all the questions but I'm going through the same shit as you

I'm running just standard gaskets. I'm gonna use studs this time. They blew out because the motor overheated from a water pump hose that was loose.
