i have a 90 gt.my s/c at idle(600rpm) will make thi kinda grinding noise..i dont no how to explain it...but once i rev it to about 750 rpm it goes away..it only happens at idle...ive pulled the belt and spun the pulley by hand..spins good..no rubbing from the impeller..should i just raise my idle?!?!

Raise the idle, and tighten the hell out of the belt. My car did that till I tightened up the belt, what was causing the grinding was the tensioner rattling from the belt shaking...

ill check the tensioner but it sounds like its comming from the s/c but i dont no y it does it at 600rpm but not at 700 and up...its weird..the belt is pretty tight ill try and tighten it maybe

I would raise the idle if I were you. I got mine idling at 1000rpms and the computer tuners as well as reputable shops say it is fine. How long are you ever idling anyway? Personally I bet there isnt nothing wrong with the blower, its just getting ready to dye from such a low idle. Just my opinion from working on my own car.

ok i will raise the idle but my cam sounds really good at 600..ill raise it to about 800 rpm...just change it with the idle screw correct!!?

We all like our cam to shake the car like a mf but it will be better at a higher rpm. My opinion.
