Anybody know anything about this? I hear a rumor the navigator type motor is good for some sick HP boosted.

Any idea what these motors cost? Any idea what kind of power they can run say with a YS-trim or other ridiculous supercharger?

Also, would like to run on a STOCK motor, aka, leave everything under the valve covers/intake ALONE. (heh, getting lazy).

thanks in advance. Oh, and what do you think? 6" cowl hood in a fox or something ridiculous like that?

seems to be a good thread, but mostly swings from the nuts of Boss330 who campaigns an N/A 5.4 DOHC in NMRA modular racing. Still, 11.3 @ 123 or so N/A is not bad.

Hardly a stock navigator motor.

Sean Hyland motorsports sells worked (heads, cams) navigator complete motors for $8k to $10k apparently.

I can't imagine a wrecker would ask for more than $4k for a nice complete navigator mill.

Hmmm, a 408 351w based motor is sounding more attractive all the time [Wink] [patriot]

I agree! Some high compression, and your set.

I was just told the navigator motor (5.4, DOHC) is 4" wider than a 460, and will not fit in a fox (tags shock towers, frame rail, etc.)

however, it is an option definitely for '96 + cars with the modular platform. I guess Ford opened things up quite a bit then.

ah well, pushrods 4 lyfe!

hey shade, just wondering why you would want to go w/ a 5.4 truck motor VS. a 4.6 7000rpm+ motor that will fit in a fox w/ no probs ?
w/ the 03 cobra around im sure a built short block from ford will be cheep..slap some stock 96-98 heads and your ready to roll..

SVT used the 5.4 Navi in the 00' Cobra R and it made some pretty impressive n/a #'s = )

YOULLUZ- Who odes your polishing work for you? Looks great and I want to get some similar work done to upper intake, blower, etc.

forgot to mention: why a 5.4 instead of a 4.6?

more is better, duh [Wink]

the swap to do I understand is a '96-'96 6 banger stang. Hang on to your 6 banger stangs guys. A navigator might have an "accident" near you [Wink] [Razz]
