are long tube headers street legal for your car? will you pass smog? I am gonna install some bigger headers on my dad's cobra we need to do some moving of an air pipe that connects to the header. I will tell you how hard it is it looks pretty bad

Long tubes aren't legal for use in California. You will be able to pass smog with cats, just not the visual(unless the smog tech is "lazy").

From what I have been told and have read, installing headers on a 4.6 is a big job, usually requires lifting the engine a bit, and might want to be held off until other mods have been done. Just make sure it's what ya want to do!

When you get the long tube you will aslo be needing the shorty H pipe, but yeah If you are gonna do it at a shop, they charge an arm and a leg.
