heres the deal, i am getting a cold air induction kit. i am debating on whether to get a mac or a bbk kit. Bbk kits are more expensive than mac ones, is it really worth the extra money? how much hp gains will i be looking at?
please let me know, i was planning to order them tomorrow if i get a little help form you guys !!
thanks

I say go Densecharger for your cold air kit, I gained a 1 mph in the 1/4.

metal retains heat= bad for that little intake section there.

I second that.
The metal heats up pretty quick, which doesnt seem like it would help out HP. Go with the KnN FIPK.

actually i think it would help dissipate heat.
There is no more heat being generated under the hood by adding it...but you have more of an area to cool of now. Since the rubber does nothing either way. kinda like a spoon being in your chili....i can't say for sure.......i picked up 2 tenths and 2-3 MPH by replacing a K&N cone filter w/ the BBK CAI. i don't think there would be any difference at all between the MAC or BBK.

Densercharger all the way, save yourself 100 bucks and get more power plus adjustability of where the filter sits.

they all provide very little horsepower, go with whatever looks best to you. I personally just went with a larger MAF and soon a larger throttle body leaving the tubes stock.

I have the BBK cold air kit and it sucks! It's just for looks.....and plus it didn't fit with my 65mm TB, so we had to 'ghetto rig' the pipe and cut it. Not worth the money!!

I ran both kits on my old car. You will see absoluelty no hp difference between the two kits. I went with the mac first cause it was cheaper and I was impatient, but when I did the mass air conversion on my '87 I bought a bbk fenderwell kit and loved it. As for 91pony having problems....Everyone seems to have a bitch of a time installing them to make em work right....it didn't want to fit on mine either with the larger throttle body, but....I got it to work after a few minutes of dickin with it. If you want it for looks, the bbk looks excellent, and that would be my choice. Just my .02

FUCK "BBK" THEY SUCK!!!!!,I'm running the MAC and I have never had a problem however it does run hotter than the plastic/"FIPK-K&N" kits. unless you have any other chrome on your engine I would suggest one of the plastic cold air kits(for a slight advantage in performance).

The densecharger is made of durable plastic. Mac and BBK are made of polished steel. Plastic stays cooler than steel so there for your intake charge would be cooler with the densecharger.
