I will be rebuilding my heads soon and I want to put on a new set of headers. What are advantages/disadvantages to equal vs unequal. Also chrome vs HTS coated, Is it worth the extra $100?

EQUAL=SUCK=WASTE of TIME
coated= kinda worth it if you have the extra $$$

HTS = MAC coating? I think that stuff is just paint primer. Its a joke that comes off in no time. I'd stay away from MAC. I've had good luck with BBK headers and so have many of my friends. Some people don't like BBK, but 90%+ of the time I think its the make-shift mechanic's fault.

Why? Loss in power? Difficult install?

you get to break off your knuckles at every spark plug change all for about 1 HP. (equal vs. unequal puts about 1 HP to the advantage of equal).
don't forget--- on a complete stock 1.5" headers are better than 1 5/8"

You get a little more than 1hp try ,more like 5hp. Its not a lot more but they do give you a little more power up in thew rpm's and they are not as hard as everyone thinks to install.

if you're interested in HP/TQ, go longtubes and don't look back.

I have a book from CCS and they dyno tuned a stock motor with the comparisons between the shortys and equal lenths and the equal lenths picked up about 5hp-7hp max.

BBK 1 5/8 long tubes (like the ones I sold to ST5150) beautiful headers that have an available matching H pipe.

Step headers are also nice.
BBK does suck! Not for stock heads though, but for aftermarket it's just plain sick... The flange on the BBKs are welded on the inside of the tube & cause a nice restriction. Not a real issue with the stock E7's small exhaust port, but with aftermarket heads it'll actually impeed the airflow. Also, measure the collector ball end. I bet it's not 2&1/2 inches as advertised. Minor grinding is all that is needed, but JBA is a much better choice.
