I usually install my own beat but i've ran into a snag lately. I just picked up a KENWOOD KDC-V7016 and was planning to install it yesterday. But, lately, i heard that trying to install an aftermarket receiver to a Mach 460 system(1994) was extremely difficult(peripheral adapter, re-wiring of speakers, re-wiring of amps, etc.) those are all excuses i heard from audio shops. Are they pulling my leg or is it really that complicated to by-pass the MACH system? im not adding any woofers or changing my speakers, i just want to replace my stock deck. Highest quote i got was $120, and the harness was $50. Help me out somebody, are they jawsin or what?

If you were upgrading your speakers and stuff..I know there is quite a bit that has to be changed..but as far as just adding a deck, I am assuming that just the correct wiring harness would do the job..I had everything done professionally (deck, subs, new componants) all at once so I really could't say for sure.

i am a mecp in staller,,all you need to do is buy pass your amp ,,and once you install your new deck your cd player wont workany more ,but to make it easy on your self just return your deck and get a fm modulated changer ,,all that does is plugs in to your antenna and all it needs is a constant 12v source ,and an accessory wire and has a tiny little display which you can mount or put anywhere ,,so there are many options ,,
