ok basically my car is broken down but i will tell the complete story. From the begging of this week my car began to make a strange clicking sound that amplified the higher the engine revved. I thought the noise was not that big of a deal and decided to wait until the weekend to get my car checked out. Well today the noise began to get really loud but stillI decided to wait until this weekend. Well after some spirited driving I went to slam it into third and it wouldn't go in. i put it into neutral and it then shifted into third fine but I smelled the clutch burning. When i came to a stoplight with the clutch pedal fully depressed it stalled and then procedded not to start again. After fifteen minuetes I tried to start the car again and it started fine but the clcking sond was now REALLY loud. At every stoplight the car would want to stall and did stall a few times if i didn't keep the engine revving. Do you have any ideas with what is wrong. oh BTW my car is a 1998 Cobra.

this may sounds dumb, but do you have oil in it ? Im talking the full 6 QT. sounds exactly like what happen to 9COBRA8 when he starved it for oil then spun a bearing.
The clicking can also be the timing chain adjusters but as far as i know it wont cause your motor to stall. keep us posted on what it is

Due to the "clutch smell" coming while you were shifting, I'd look at the clutch throw-out bearing...if you're depressing the pedal and the clutch is smokin', there's your problem.

i'd pull the plugs and do a compression test before driving the car another inch.
