is there anyone in Sac that would be capable of doing a motor swap in my 1998 cobra?

i talked to JT's and they wouldn't do it.

there's a ford guy here in auburn, but i'd really like to get the car to someone who's done a cobra before...

why did JT's say no? I thought they did that stuff all the time

Try Rex Hutchinson. He's on Auburn Blvd, not far from JTs

Jt's said they'd do it when i sent out feelers a few weeks ago, but when i talked to him on the phone yesterday, he started hemming and hawing about how "internet shortblocks are always a problem", etc.

i told him "it's a SEAN HYLAND shortblock" and he seemed to not have any idea of who they were...

not the thing to instill confidence.

i talked to Ray Miller out in San Jose, and he seemed fine with it, but hasn't gotten back to me with a quote as promised...

i'll try force fed, i talked to them at sac a few times when i was driving my LX.

There really aren't too many shops in the area that will do serious work to cars. I'd call Griggs and I'm sure they'll do it. Either Bruce or John will give you ideas on how to do this right. It's only an hour away at Sears Point. Good luck.

Harland Sharp in Sacto off of Watt ave does serious modular stuff. They are the best I have seen on the west coast as far as mod stuff goes. They had a mention in MM and FF two issues ago in a modular mods section. Thats who I would contact.

next time...
i dropped the car off at force fed performance in Yuba City today. he said mine is their tenth cobra swap, so i'm pretty confident that they'll have it in and out with no worries!

I can't wait to get my car back!

i dunno how much difference the cams will make with only 6lb of boost, but i think i'm going to leave it at that until i can afford a transmission [Wink]

the MSD box should keep me from hurting anything major...
